“Up to half the kids in 6th Grade didn’t know how to ride a bike.”
While working as a bike safety instructor for Ventura Unified School District, I was surprised to learn that up to half of the sixth-grade PE students I worked with had never learned to ride a bike. I saw this as a call to action. For me, biking was such a memorable experience that connected me with my family and community and gave me confidence and independence. I want to create opportunities to pass my love of biking to a new generation of kids, getting them off of screens and out into the world. I founded Bike 4 a Cause to offer simple steps and safety tips to help parents teach their kids to ride safely and confidently. Our events create memorable, family-oriented experiences to promote and enable safe biking in Ventura County and beyond.

Join us for Learn 2 Ride Day!
Learn 2 Ride Day is Bike 4 A Cause’s flagship event, hosted on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. From 10 am to 6 pm, we bring together kids, families, and individuals of all ages from across the community to learn bike safety, practice riding skills, and have fun with peers! All skill levels are welcome.
Each event features a special guest speaker at 3 pm who shares important information for parents, families, and community members. New riders can earn a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Ventura City Mayor, as well as a free Bike 4 A Cause T-shirt to celebrate their accomplishment!
We’ll have a booth with step-by-step guides, safety pamphlets, and updates on the latest California traffic laws for drivers, cyclists, and e-bikers, provided by the Ventura Police Department.
