History of Bike 4 a Cause

From Humble Beginnings to a Movement for Change

2012: The Beginning
Bike 4 a Cause started in 2012 with a charity ride in Ventura, California, organized to raise funds for street improvements. Though this event sparked the concept, the organization paused for several years as founder Carlos Landeros pursued personal and professional growth.

2022: Becoming a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit
On April 28, 2022, Bike 4 a Cause officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This marked a significant milestone, setting the stage for the launch of programs aimed at promoting health, wellness, and cycling education. Carlos reconnected with community leaders, attended nonprofit mixers, and worked to build strong partnerships.

2023-2024: New Programs on the Horizon
Starting in November 2024, Bike 4 a Cause will launch Learn 2 Ride Days, helping children and adults learn how to ride bikes safely and confidently. The Youth Bike Competition, which began in the 2023-2024 school year, engages students in building fitness, confidence, and a love for cycling.

2023 and Beyond: Expanding Community Impact
With the successful introduction of Flash Mob Parades, Healthy Block Parties, and new cycling education programs, Bike 4 a Cause is now growing its impact throughout Ventura County. The organization is focused on making cycling more accessible and advocating for road safety.
